The tallest structure in Vermont, the Bennington Battle Monument commemorates the Revolutionary War battle that helped shape the nation’s early history. Visitors can ride the elevator to the top for sweeping views across Vermont, New York, and Massachusetts. It remains one of the most iconic landmarks in Bennington.

Historic Covered Bridges
Bennington County is home to several historic Vermont covered bridges, including the Silk Road Covered Bridge, Paper Mill Village Covered Bridge, and Burt Henry Covered Bridge. Vermont has more than 100 covered bridges — more per square mile than any other state in the US. These classic landmarks are a favorite stop along scenic drives through the surrounding countryside.

Bennington Museum
The Bennington Museum offers a window into the art, culture, and history of Southern Vermont. It houses the largest public collection of works by folk artist Grandma Moses along with regional artifacts and rotating exhibitions. The museum is one of the cultural highlights of Bennington.
